Dear Colleagues,

The attached file is the report of the last Q.6/10 ITU exprts meeting.

This is being made public to keep you informed of the progress towards
SDL-2000 standards.

The key new items are the decision to "determine" a new standard Z.109 that
deals with the use of UML object model notation in conjunction with SDL.
This also has impact in SDL itslef, and it has been agreed to introduce an
association notation into SDL and that class symbols can appear in SDL
diagrams.

The schedule is to produce a draft standards (Z.100, Z.105, Z.107, Z.109)
that can be circulated by the ITU in time for SG10 to approve the standards
in Novemeber. This means that (apart from editorial details and
clarifications) the draft documents need to be ready by the beginning of
July.

All the major decisions have therefore been made, and the remaining work to
be done is to complete the documentation.

TO GET THE REAL DETAIL OF WHAT SDL-2000 CONTAINS, COME TO THE 9th SDL FORUM
IN MONTREAL - WHERE THERE WILL BE PRESENTATIONS AND DISCUSSIONS.
