I think a lot of people dont want to do code generation or simulation.
They just want a tool that allows them to easily edit graphically SDL
diagrams. We all know that SDL is in strong 'competition' with several
other ways to develop system. Just telling them to trust us and buy a
$30000 USD CASE tool to build their system is not likely to work all the
times...Furthermore, even building system using SDL CASE tool is not the
ultimate solution in all cases. There are also drawbacks. SDL must be
sold and widespread. We need to have SDL accessible to a wider public so
that this language be known not only by a small group of professional
working for big companies.

I agree with you that developing an SDL Editor is not a trivial task.
However, the price the market is ready to pay is not related to the
amount of effort programmers have invested in the product. It is only
related to benefits it can provide to customers.
