What you are asking is possible. When starting the timer you have to use
the form: set (now+ timerDuration+timerName), where timerDuration can be
calculated. Note that timerDuration is of type Real.

I'd like to be able to use a timer with a duration that is calculated
during run time. But it appears to me from the definition that this is
