Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to report that ITU-T SG17 has consented that the draft Recommendation texts are sufficiently mature to initiate the Advanced Approval Procedure (AAP).

The ITU-T TSB should send out the texts for comment on 15th September and there is a four week period for responses.

If there are no comments the texts are automatically approved.

However, I expect and anticipate that there are comments and I shall probably have some to make myself.

If you have comments to make, please send them to me, but if you ALSO have a official route for making comments PLEASE MAKE THEM BY THAT ROUTE AS WELL.

Assuming that there are some comments, the SG 17 management (usually the SG chairman with the Question experts) has to decided whether the comments are editorial and can be applied or if a another round of AAP is needed.

You can find the AAP documented at:

http://www.itu.int/rec/T-REC-A.8-200810-I/dologin.asp?lang=e&id=T-REC-A.8-200810-I!!PDF-E

The texts can be found on the ITU-T www site.
For SDL Forum Society members I will also post the texts on the SDL Forum Society www site in the next week.
